Aberdeen Photographer - 366 Photography Challenge – Week Forty One

Welcome to Week Forty-One of my 366 Photography Challenge! This week, my photography has been inspired by the beauty of nature, the changing light of Aberdeenshire, and the early Halloween spirit.

Day 272: The Shell

I was pressed for time on Day 272, so I grouped a few shells, planning to capture a minimalist shot. However, this particular shell caught my eye—the texture reminded me of marble. That's how my creative brain works!

Day 273: The Thistle

During my walk, this thistle plant caught my attention with its tough, uninviting texture, which I found fascinating. As people walked by, they didn’t seem to understand why I was photographing it, but that didn’t matter. The image was already in my mind. Everyone sees the world through their own unique filter.

Day 274: Sunrise in Aberdeenshire

Aberdeenshire is a stunning part of Scotland, with light that can be dreamy, as seen in this photo, or dramatic on a stormy day. Since I wake up before sunrise, I grabbed my camera and captured this beautiful light unfolding outside my window.

Day 275: Bennachie Mountain – Aberdeenshire

Another glorious Aberdeenshire sunrise! I didn’t have my camera with me initially, so I rushed home to grab it and returned to this spot just in time to capture the ever-changing light. I was lucky to snap this shot before the moment passed.

Day 276: Halloween is Coming

October means it’s time to get into the Halloween spirit! After a long day and with the weather not cooperating, I had limited options. The idea of creating a monochromatic image with this Halloween decoration came to mind, and I’m pleased with how it turned out.

Day 277: Afternoon Walk

I know I’ve photographed this path before, but it’s always so enchanting. The low autumn sun bathed the scene in such a beautiful light that I couldn’t resist capturing it again.

Day 278: Ghosting – Halloween Theme

For the final picture of this week, I kept the Halloween vibe by draping two white sheets over myself and taking some selfies. The final face was added using AI. The weather was dreadful, so I had to be resourceful with what I had at home.
My husband came into my studio and burst out laughing. He said, “I wanted you to review an important email, but I think this is the wrong moment to ask something serious.” I responded, “Yes, I’ll go in a few minutes.” Another photography week done.

Day 278.

Photography challenges like this remind me of the importance of being present, noticing the details, and allowing inspiration to come from unexpected places.
