Aberdeen Photographer - 366 Photography Challenge – Week Fifty-Two / by Leticia Gaidon Bradford

The final days of the challenge are here! This week has been full of small moments where creativity met resilience. From finding beauty in the wind and rain to experimenting with light and everyday objects, I’m proud to share these images with you.

 Day 349: Beautiful Sunset

After editing photos for a client, I needed some fresh air and a picture for the day. The wind was so strong that any videos I tried to take were ruined by its roar. On the bright side, the sunset was stunning, with the wind stretching the clouds into a beautiful display.

Day 350: Pear in Monochrome

With dreadful weather outside and feeling drained, I had to think fast for today’s photo. A simple pear became the subject, and in post-production, I worked to make it stand out. The result is a moody monochrome image that I’m happy to share.

Day 351: Playing with Light

Between work and Christmas preparations, time was limited, so I turned to an old favourite – experimenting with light. Using my daughter’s toy lighting ball, I created a playful photo by bouncing the ball and then adjusting the orientation in post-production. It’s simple but eye-catching.

Day 352: Bennachie under the Rain

After a long editing session, I was determined to shoot outdoors. However, the cold wind and rain quickly changed my plans. I captured this dramatic photo of Bennachie as the rain swept over and hurried back indoors.

Day 353: Feather

After a rare evening out with friends, I came home needing to complete the challenge for the day. With little time, I grabbed a feather and focused on its texture for a close-up shot. A small, simple object, but it worked perfectly!

Day 354: Sheep Modelling

Even in windy weather, I ventured out and was rewarded with this fun moment. A group of sheep paused their head-butting games just long enough for me to take their photo. They make great models!

Day 355: Christmas Decoration

For the last photo of the week, I turned to my Christmas tree. Stars are one of my favourite shapes, and this ornament caught my eye. With a slow shutter speed, I zoomed in to create a dreamy, festive image to close the week.

Week Fifty-Two has been a blend of quick thinking and small joys.
