365 Days Photography Challenge: Week Twentieth - Aberdeen, Scotland / by Leticia Gaidon Bradford

Embark on a visual journey through Aberdeen, Scotland, as we delve into Week Twenty of the 365 Days Photography Challenge. From bulbs blooming to captivating sunsets, join us as we explore the scenic landscapes and architectural beauty of this historic city.

Day 126: Bulbs in Bloom – The promise of blooming life after wintertime.

Every autumn, I take the time to plant bulbs in anticipation of warmer days ahead. I carefully choose them, considering their colour combinations, though there's always an element of uncertainty about how they'll turn out. So, this year, instead of simply waiting for them to bloom, I decided to capture their growth, documenting my connection with them through photography.

Day 126.

Day 127: My Favourite Path.

This place holds a special charm for me. The line of trees along this ancient path is simply beautiful. During a recent stroll, I spotted an owl perched on a branch. Despite my attempts to photograph it, I missed the focus due to my camera being set to automatic mode. Determined not to miss the opportunity again, I resolved to return with manual focus.

Day 127.

Day 128: Capturing the Owl in Westhill.

On a misty evening, I set out once more to find the elusive owl. With my camera now set to manual focus, I ventured along the quiet path, hoping for another encounter. After patiently waiting, I spotted movement and managed to capture the owl on a nearby branch. The joy of success was further increased when I stumbled upon a baby owl, offering an unexpected and delightful photo opportunity.

Day 129: My Love for Domes.

Architecture has always fascinated me, particularly classic buildings. Growing up in Buenos Aires, known as the Paris of South America, infused in me a deep appreciation for architectural beauty. While I may not be an expert in the field, the attraction of magnificent domes never fails to captivate my lens.

Day 129.

Day 130: The Beginning of Gorgeous Sunsets.

With the arrival of spring, I ventured out without the need for a coat, though still clinging to my winter layers. Despite the Scottish "warm" days, the sunsets in Westhill are truly spectacular during this time of year. So, brace yourselves for an influx of sunset photos as I capture the beauty of the changing seasons.

Day 131: Glen Tanar on a Warm Day.

Finally, a day of proper warmth arrived, allowing me to shed my winter outfit and embrace lighter clothing. During a walk in the forest, I spotted a heron across a lake. The reflection in the water was too attractive to resist, making it photo for the day.

Day 132: Lawn Daisies

At this time of year, I enjoy observing the contrast between the tiny lawn daisies and my favourite tree. Therefore, I took this image today.
