Blair, a property consultant and founder of the growing business Crownholm, reached out to update his website with photos that represent his professionalism and vision. Here’s how we worked together to create standout portraits while overcoming unexpected challenges.

The Process
Consultation and Planning
Blair’s decisive and efficient approach was evident from our first interaction. During the free consultation, he quickly confirmed he wanted to proceed, appreciating the clear process and benefits of personal brand photography. To ensure we shared the same creative vision, we collaborated on a mood board. Blair even created one himself, giving me insight into his preferences and style, which helped tailor the session to his needs.

Location and Lighting Challenges
After scouting the initial location, and highlighting the pros and cons of that place, Blair suggested the flexibility of choosing an alternative spot, wondering if it might work better. We agreed a new area for the session regarding of the many possibilities of images that I explained and upon reviewing the lighting conditions. This collaborative decision ensured we had the best setup for the shoot.

Adapting on the Day
The weather on the day of the session posed its own challenges, with dark and gloomy conditions making natural light insufficient. Indoors, the room’s many windows required careful lighting to avoid reflections. Using my studio photography knowledge and adaptability from event photography, I managed to light Blair effectively while preserving the natural view of the greenery outside. With limited time, quick problem-solving ensured we captured high-quality images.

The Outcome
The final portraits exceeded expectations, capturing Blair’s professionalism, confidence, and the values of his brand. These images are now prominently featured on Crownholm’s website, reflecting his dedication to excellence and the forward-thinking nature of his business.
